Dave Winer in 1994 had the idea to send his thoughts in email form. He was able to create a list of people who had email addresses, like Bill Gates. I thought it was interesting that email addresses were easily attained and only a small amount of people had them. He blogged and emailed via his homepage DaveNet. He believed that one day there would be billions of websites and everyone would have email. People were skeptical of this and look where we are today.
