Net Art

After looking through the articles, I found myself kind of confused at what 'net art' actually was. I understand that it encompasses art within the internet...hence the name. On the other hand, it's difficult to distinguish what 'art' truly is. Perhaps I have a biased opinion, or perhaps I'm jaded by the typical paintings or designs that come to mind when the word 'art' is spoken. But, I guess when all is said and done, these people share their creativity on the web for others to see. Maybe it's not so much what 'art' is, but that we share what's going on in the creative lobe in our brain. I was rather intrigued with the telegarden, however I'm still uncertain how that qualifies as net art.
